Cleaning Care
If you follow our recommendations, you should never need to wash your pillow. However, life happens and you may want to wash your pillow. Please note: due to variations in machines and water quality, even following these steps will not guarantee your pillow will return to its full original form.
Below is a process we have found to be the best method of washing your pillow:
- Wash with a minimal amount of light liquid soap.
- Double spin to remove as much water as possible.
- Tumble dry on low heat for longer than you think.
Pro Tip: Ensure that the core of the pillow is dry before using. Especially with Down Surround pillows such as Summit. If left damp, a “musty” smell can occur and is difficult to remove once set in. Please ensure pillow is fully dry.
If you follow these recommendations, you should be able to enjoy your Cuddle Down Pillow for many years.
The following are our recommendations to maximize the life of your Duvet.
- Always use a Duvet cover and wash it regularly
- Refrain from sitting on the duvet
- Repetitive pressure on the duvet could damage the baffle over time
- Air out your Duvet
- Every 3-6 months hang your duvet out to breath; it will eliminate dust partials and allow your down to reloft to its maximum volume.
- Hang your duvet in a cool, dry, airy location out of direct sunlight for 1 hour. Either outdoors or inside with significant airflow.
Cleaning Care
If you follow our recommendations, you should never need to clean your Duvet. However, life happens, and you may want to clean your Duvet.
We recommend Dry Cleaning:
- Locate a reputable drycleaner who advertises cleaning Down jackets and duvets.
- We recommend dry clean for all baffle box duvets, including synthetic.
Washing your Duvet
While down is very washable, the luxury construction of your baffle box duvet shell is very delicate when wet. If duvets are not handles with the utmost of care, damage can occur to the internal construction and will void your warranty.
If a small spill occurs, you can spot treat with warm water and light liquid detergent. First move the down away from the affected area and spot clean as needed.
If you follow these recommendations, you should be able to enjoy your Cuddle Down Pillow for many years.
The following are our recommendations to maximize the life of your sheets.
When you first open your Cuddle Down sheets, please ensure you wash them before using for 2 reasons:
- To remove any residue dye or finishing chemicals from the fabric
- Our cotton sheets are over cut to allow for shrinkage on first wash. 90% of the cotton shrinkage will happen in the first wash.
Washing instructions
- Wash in warm water on delicate cycle with low amounts of liquid detergent.
- We do not recommend the use of liquid fabric softeners as this will break down the fabric faster.
- To maintain white crisp sheets, do not use bleach, it will devastate cotton. We recommend a colour safe bleach alternative such as Oxi Clean.
- Dry on med-low heat
- Remove from dryer immediately to limit wrinkling
- Ironing is not necessary, however will improve the smoothness and luster of your sheets
Note: Over time, our fabrics will relax and will wrinkle less and less
Pro Tip: if possible hang dry your sheets, it can help to increase the longevity of your bedding.
